I was the one holding space for everyone else, even when I was close to burnout myself. Now, I help other mental health professionals lead with clarity, authenticity, and sustainability—so they can build practices that are profitable, ethical, and aligned with their actual values.
I’m a therapist, trauma-informed leadership coach, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant—but more than that, I’m someone who deeply understands what it’s like to lead in a system that wasn’t built for your nervous system.
I’ve spent over two decades navigating the emotional labor of this field—as a clinician, a supervisor, and the founder of a multi-office trauma-informed group practice.
Let’s get you the support you’ve been giving everyone else.
Lisa Duez is the founder and CEO of Turning Point Counseling and Consulting, a trauma-informed group practice serving Hampton Roads, Virginia—and beyond.
At Turning Point, we offer both in-person and virtual outpatient therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Our clinicians specialize in trauma-informed care and bring advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as other evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs.
Over the years, our practice has proudly partnered with schools, hospitals, first responders, and community agencies to extend our mission of healing across the region. We accept most major insurance plans and have supported thousands of clients on their path to living fuller, healthier lives.
Whether someone is navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, or just feeling stuck—we meet them with compassion, curiosity, and care.
I help mental health professionals reclaim their clarity, reconnect with their purpose, and lead in ways that are trauma-informed, sustainable, and system-shifting.
Because when therapists are truly supported, they don’t just survive the system—they change it. They create workplaces that protect well-being, communities that thrive, and clinical care that lasts far beyond the therapy room.
At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to safety and collaboration—creating safe spaces to work, safe spaces to heal, and safe spaces to grow. I believe therapists do their best work when they’re supported not just clinically, but as whole, complex, human beings.
That belief fuels my work—whether I’m coaching group practice owners, providing EMDR consultation, or standing on stage at the Clinician Connection Conference. Through speaking, coaching, and advocacy.
